2022 Powder Room Design Trends

2022 Powder Room Design Trends

Hall Bathroom Design Trends

Master bathrooms have often been the focus of bathroom remodeling, thanks in part to an increased desire by homeowners to have a spa-like atmosphere to enjoy at home. The unsung heroes, however, are smaller rooms such as the hall bathroom or a simple powder room design.

As the old saying goes, good things come in small packages. Although they sport a smaller footprint and fewer fixtures, small bathrooms can hold big promise. And, they can be full of fabulous design features, unique space-saving ideas, and character! Let’s take a look at how to get the most out of your 2022 hall bathroom or powder room remodel.

4 Delightful Powder Room Design Trends for 2022

Beautiful Basins

If you’re looking to fit a lot of function into a small space, sometimes the answer is to get creative. Rather than installing a standard sink and vanity, how about a beautiful basin-style sink? Its small size allows it to fit almost anywhere while still providing the function you need. New designs make them pleasing to the eye, too, so don’t think you’re sacrificing aesthetics!

A Focus on Lighting

Since it’s typically tucked between other rooms, a hall bathroom often doesn’t have natural light. However, if there’s room for a small window, natural light can help brighten the space and even make it look larger than it really is. If natural light isn’t an option, 2022 bathroom design trends point toward using wall sconces, downlights, or LED feature lights to provide a warm glow or highlight unique features.

Uniform Finishes and Fixtures

Although larger rooms can get away with a mixture of materials, finishes, and fixtures, your hall bathroom or other small baths will look more put together if you stick to one style. That’s because the small space can take on a cluttered feel if you try to include too much. Instead of mixing and matching, opt for a more uniform look. For example, a seamless floor running through the room and into the shower unifies the room but also gives the illusion of more space.

Space-Saving Storage Solutions

When it comes to small bathrooms, unique storage spaces are always in style. If your hall bathroom or powder room is only a half bath, you likely won’t have as many towels, washcloths, and bath amenities to store. But, you’ll still want space for toiletries, toilet paper, soaps, and hand towels. Floating shelves, built-in drawers, or custom cabinets are all great options for keeping necessities neat while freeing up countertop space.

6 NEW Bathroom Design Trends for 2022

6 NEW Bathroom Design Trends for 2022

2022 Bathroom Design Trends

From the purely functional bathrooms of decades gone by, to the modern masterpieces we see today, master bathroom remodeling in Orange County has seen a variety of changes over the years. And now, as a new year approaches, we look ahead to 2022 master bathroom design trends. Let’s take a closer look at what you can expect to see in master baths in 2022 and beyond.

Exciting Bathroom Design Trends to Watch for in 2022

1.  Shower/Bath Combo- Tub/shower units enclosed by a shower curtain or sliding door have been around for ages. However, new master bathroom design trends take this idea a step further. Now, homeowners can enjoy a full shower positioned next to a tub, all tucked inside a roomy glass enclosure.

2.  Spa-like Serenity – While other household bathrooms may be designed significantly for function, 2022 master bathroom design trends point toward this room being used for relaxation. From its overall design to its color, fixtures, and materials, the modern master bathroom will have a calming, spa-like atmosphere … the perfect place to relax and unwind after a busy day.

3.  Dual Showerheads – Master bath dual vanities have been important fixtures in years past. But, 2022 master bathroom design trends encourage another feature built for two: the shower. A large shower space equipped with twin showerheads makes it easy for partners to shower simultaneously. In addition to function, the dual fixtures add stylish symmetry.

4.  Glass Wall Partitions – Master bedroom suites are known for their expansive space and generous living area. In 2022, expect to see a slight variation on this space with the use of glass wall partitions between the master bath and bedroom. The feeling of open space is retained while a glass partition effectively designates the boundaries of separate spaces.

5.  Tantalizing Tiles – From wood-look tiles to vertical tiles or intricate geometric designs, tiled walls, backsplashes, and flooring will be a critical component of 2022 master bathroom designs. Used in a variety of different ways, bathroom tiles can make the room look bigger, be utilized to contrast other materials and textures, or fit a range of styles.

6.  Bathtub in the Bedroom – This year, sleek tubs with clean lines and a minimalist design become popular in their new home … the master bedroom. A bathtub in the bedroom may seem like a strange combination at first. But, it’s gaining in popularity as homeowners seek a refreshing, spa-like atmosphere in which they can be rejuvenated at the end of the day.

8 Stylish Kitchen Design Trends for 2026

8 Stylish Kitchen Design Trends for 2026

Center kitchen island with bar seating in San Juan Capistrano kitchen remodel

Do you love cooking? Even if you do, you’ll likely agree that it sometimes gets boring. Even the most passionate chefs do find the kitchen routine monotonous at times.

But do you know that a thoughtfully designed kitchen can elevate the cooking experience, making it more efficient, enjoyable, and inspiring? Yes, with innovative appliances, sleek storage solutions, and a beautiful ambiance enhanced by smart technology, your kitchen time can become a breeze.

But with design trends constantly evolving, how do you achieve the perfect mix of practicality and style in your kitchen? Knowing what’s trending will help you create a stylish, functional space that stands the test of time. This article covers eight stylish kitchen design trends for 2026 that will inspire you.

1. Warm and Earthy Color Palettes

For years, all-white kitchens dominated home design. But many homeowners are shifting towards warm tones this time. These include rich, earthy hues like deep greens, soft browns, warm beiges, and muted blues. Such colors bring a cozy and inviting feel to any kitchen.

This change is due to the increasing demand for natural and comfortable spaces. Earthy tones pair beautifully with wood accents, stone countertops, and natural light, making the kitchen feel more welcoming and timeless.

What if you’re not ready to ditch white completely? Try mixing warm cabinets with a white countertop or backsplash for a balanced look.

2. Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Materials

Many kitchen designs emphasize sustainability more than ever. Popular eco-friendly materials are cabinets made from reclaimed wood, countertops crafted from recycled materials, and environmentally-friendly paints and finishes.

Minor adjustments, like energy-efficient appliances and LED lighting, can make a big impact. Consider installing a water-saving faucet or composting station to make your kitchen even more environmentally friendly.

3. Smart Kitchens with High-Tech Features

Technology is transforming the way we use our kitchens. Features like a refrigerator that reminds you when you’re out of milk, a voice-activated oven, or motion-sensor lighting are becoming the norm. These high-tech additions make cooking and cleaning easier than ever.

Some homeowners are even opting for smart dishwashers and coffee makers that they can control from a smartphone. Others are also investing in energy-efficient smart appliances to save money on utility bills while making their kitchen more functional.

4. Statement Backsplashes and Bold Surfaces

Another interesting trend for 2026 is oversized marble veining, colorful mosaics, and full-wall slab backsplashes. They’re eye-catching designs that bring depth and personality to the kitchen.

Textured materials like handcrafted tiles or rough-cut stone are also making a comeback. These materials add a unique touch while maintaining a sophisticated look. If you’re hesitant about bold colors, try a striking backsplash with neutral cabinetry for a balanced design.

5. Open Shelving and Mixed Storage Solutions

Ever seen a kitchen filled with bulky cabinets? Those days are over. Today, a combination of open shelving and closed cabinets dominates. Open shelves allow you to display stylish dishware, plants, and decorative items, making the space feel more open and airy.

To keep things practical, combine open shelving with hidden storage solutions, such as pull-out pantry drawers and appliance garages. This mix keeps the kitchen stylish while maintaining organization. Use floating shelves with built-in lighting to highlight beautiful dishes or glassware.

6. Multi-Functional Islands

Besides providing extra counter space, kitchen islands can serve as dining tables, workstations, and even entertainment hubs. To maximize functionality, many homeowners opt for islands with built-in sinks, cooktops, or additional storage.

There are also waterfall-edge islands. They come with sleek designs that create a modern, polished look while adding a touch of luxury to the kitchen. If space allows, consider a two-tiered island. One section is for meal prep, and the other is for dining or working.

7. Integrated and Hidden Appliances

As kitchens become more streamlined, hidden appliances are becoming more popular. Examples are panel-ready refrigerators and dishwashers that integrate seamlessly into cabinetry, creating a clean and modern aesthetic.

And, instead of range hoods with bulky metal designs, concealed hoods are built into custom cabinetry for a sleek, minimalist look. If you love a clutter-free kitchen, opt for built-in appliances to maintain a seamless design.

8. Modern Design Mixed with Vintage Elements

Blending vintage and modern elements is one of the most exciting stylish kitchen design trends for 2026. For instance, shaker cabinets pair nicely with high-tech appliances or a farmhouse sink with sleek quartz countertops.

This mix creates a timeless appearance that feels both fresh and familiar. To add character, many also incorporate antique-style fixtures, like brass hardware and vintage light pendants. Try using a mix of matte and glossy finishes to create visual contrast and depth.

FAQs

How can I incorporate multiple trends without making my kitchen look cluttered?

Choose one or two bold design elements (such as a statement backsplash or warm color scheme) and keep everything else neutral and functional. This balance ensures a stylish yet cohesive look.

Are smart kitchen features worth the investment?

Yes. Smart appliances save time, improve energy efficiency, and add convenience to your daily routine. They also increase the value of your home.

What’s the most budget-friendly way to update my kitchen in 2026?

Updating hardware, and adding a new backsplash are affordable ways to refresh your kitchen without a full remodel.

Is open shelving practical for everyday use?

Open shelving works best when used intentionally. Display frequently used items and mix them with decorative pieces. If you prefer a clutter-free look, combine open shelving with closed cabinets.

2022 Kitchen Cabinet Design Trends

2022 Kitchen Cabinet Design Trends

2022 Kitchen Cabinet Design Trends. Kitchen remodel with large pantry and new cabinetry for built in storage.

A new year is right around the corner and that has us thinking about 2022 kitchen cabinet design trends. Will previous patterns continue, or will you be surprised at where this year’s kitchen cabinets are headed? Let’s take a closer look at what you can expect to see as the next year unfolds.

9 Kitchen Cabinet Design Trends For 2022

One Open Shelf or Floating Shelves

While kitchen cabinet design trends have often favored fully enclosed cabinets for a neat, minimalist look, 2022 will see an uptick of open or floating shelves. These are especially popular with homeowners who have unique kitchen accessories or dishes they’d like to showcase. When used in conjunction with closed cabinetry, open shelves provide a source of visual interest that naturally draws the eyes to the objects displayed on them.

Unpainted Wood Cabinets

Wood cabinets have long been prized for their beauty and durability. In recent years, however, painted wood cabinets became a popular trend. Kitchen cabinet design trends in 2022 are leaning more toward returning to the natural look, though. This is partially due to an increased focus on healthier homes and reducing chemical use in them. It’s undeniable that this return to nature will add warmth and beauty to the modern kitchen.

Handleless Kitchen Cabinets

Modern kitchen design has been moving toward a simple, streamlined look in recent years. And, this year’s trend of handleless kitchen cabinets will add to that movement. Thanks to advanced technology, cabinets can now be fitted with push open and close doors. That means there’s no longer a need for hardware knobs or pulls on almost all cabinets. The end result will be a more streamlined look that wasn’t possible before.

Pantry Cupboard Comeback

Perhaps one of the most popular kitchen cabinet design trends of 2022 will be the return of the pantry cupboard. Although they’ve been around for years, pantries haven’t been as mainstream in the modern home as they are anticipated to be now. Maybe the pandemic has emphasized the need for more grocery storage at home. Or, perhaps the rise of open shelving has fanned the desire for the large amount of storage a pantry provides. Regardless of the cause, pantry cupboards are making a comeback!

Multi-Use Cabinets

Kitchen cabinets have long been a prized location for keeping dishes, utensils, and other culinary must-haves organized but out of sight. Thanks to the pandemic, however, more people have found the need to work from home indefinitely. For those without a designated home office, that could mean turning a kitchen cabinet into a makeshift work area or storage space for office supplies.

2022 Kitchen Cabinet Design Trends

Dark Oak or Walnut Cabinetry

It’s no surprise that the rich look of walnut wood or dark stained oak will be a favorite in 2022 kitchen cabinet design trends. With their fine grain and dark color, they easily add warmth and a touch of luxury to the room. They also provide a neutral backdrop for a variety of color palettes, making them a simple design choice.

Curated Kitchen Cabinets

Along with the open shelving idea, comes a move toward more personalized kitchen spaces. Rather than tucking everything neatly out of sight, homeowners are opting for a more individualized, ‘curated’ look that displays their artwork, unique dishes, and family heirlooms. The end result is a homey, comfortable, and functional space that’s filled with personality.

Appliance Filled Drawers

Many homeowners already enjoy using kitchen cabinet drawers for small appliances like mixers. Rising in popularity, however, are other appliances in drawers – things like dishwashers or small beverage coolers. These will continue to become more popular as kitchen ergonomics becomes a more prevalent concern.

White Kitchen Cabinets

One of the most enduring kitchen cabinet design trends of all time has been white cabinets, and that trend will continue in 2022. The neutral color is perfect for homeowners who want to periodically change up their kitchen design with different pops of color.

White cabinets are versatile in nature, easily contributing to a minimalist design, fitting in with a rustic farmhouse feel, or even pairing with modern design elements. Their neutrality and versatility also make them attractive to potential home buyers if you anticipate putting your house on the market this year.

Sea Pointe Design & Remodel Partners with Galleher to Remodel New Unit at Thomas House Family Shelter

Sea Pointe Design & Remodel Partners with Galleher to Remodel New Unit at Thomas House Family Shelter

Award winning residential design and build firm, Sea Pointe Design & Remodel, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony in celebration of a newly remodeled unit for a family in need at Thomas House Family Shelter. Sea Pointe has donated brand new cabinetry and has partnered with Galleher to provide 825 square feet of GemCore Stone Composite Flooring to renovate the unit in Garden Grove for a more modern design.

“We are honored to have been invited by Sea Pointe Design & Remodel to be part of the Thomas House renovation,” comments Jim Harrington, Galleher VP of Marketing. “Projects like these offer an opportunity for us to play a small part in working towards housing solutions.”

This is the second unit Sea Pointe has partnered with Thomas House to renovate during the Covid-19 pandemic. Families who reside at the shelter were previously living in unstable housing, or uninhabitable living conditions. For 35 years, Thomas House has provided over 1,500 families shelter that is rent-free and an opportunity for a fresh start with a goal to maintain permanent housing while monitoring and bettering their personal finances.

“90% of the families find permanent housing and full-time employment, and 90% of the children increase their academic services,” says Shakoya Green, Thomas House Executive Director.

Sea Pointe Design & Remodel is honored to be able to use their expertise and services to help Thomas House and these families in a way that will empower them for years to come.

“Each parent must work full-time and save 80 percent of their income, enabling families to build their savings and learn essential life skills.  As a result, in an average 12-month stay, families can save a minimum of 2 to 3 months expenses and transition to permanent housing of their own,” says Green.

“This is our second year in a row we are able to partner with Thomas House. We are deeply inspired by their support for the community and their dedication to helping these families get back on their feet,” says Andrew Shore, Sea Pointe Design & Remodel President.

A big goal of Thomas House is to renovate its units to provide an updated and safe environment for new families.

“Having Sea Pointe, a part of this project, was terrific. Sea Pointe came in with a great strategy to accomplish the cabinetry promptly and additional resources to support the apartment makeover. The cabinetry and floor look fantastic! We are all so impressed with the outcome. We are excited to welcome a new family and see their reaction to their new home,” says Green.
