California Casual Guest Bathroom Remodel in Mission Viejo

When you think of California, the first thing that comes to mind is sandy beaches, deep blue waters, and relaxation. The California Casual decorating style reflects just that. It is all about airiness, natural tones and a sense of connectedness to the outdoors. When this family in Mission Viejo requested a casual California look for their guest bathroom remodel, we eagerly accepted, and it turned out brilliantly!

Starting at the vanity, we installed custom Kemper cabinets adding a coat of white paint to the exterior and kept a natural birch interior. A rectangular Kohler, undermount sink is set into a polished quartz countertop with a 6 inch back splash in a sandy color called ‘Pebble Rock’. Two floating shelves in natural wood tones were added for additional storage above the counter. Elegant splashes of champagne bronze are found throughout the bathroom tying in that glamorous California vibe. The flooring displays a mesmerizing star shaped pattern featuring Cosmo Blue porcelain tiles.

Adding depth and dimension, the shower/tub combo features ceramic white polished tiles in a herringbone pattern. A custom shower niche with a pop of ocean blue penny-round tiles was included to hold everyday bath essentials. A levity sliding bath door featuring a smooth roller design, crystal clear glass panels and an anodized brushed bronze frame by Kohler creates an open, inviting space for bathing.

We continued the coastal vibe just outside of the bathroom by creating a nook for additional storage. Accenting the ‘Pebble Rock’ quartz counter are white Kemper, Marimac style, shaker cabinets with vertical champagne bronze handles. Keeping it clean and simple are two floating shelves in natural wood that help keep accessories organized.
